Stay away from these people
The key to a happy life isn't just about choosing the right friends — it's about excluding the wrong ones. Stay away from chronic complainers, people who drain you, and those who always say no.
The key to a happy life isn’t just about choosing the right friends; it’s about excluding the wrong ones. Here are the type of people you should stay away from. I know it is a very sensitive and subjective topic. But, I want to write down my thoughts on it.
Stay away from people who often claim to be “straightforward” and speak from “their heart”. These people are usually rude and use the “straightforward” label to justify their rudeness. Furthermore, they are unlikely to appreciate your positive qualities; they will only be straightforward when it comes to saying something negative.
Avoid people who don’t put in the same effort as you. If you want to meet, they’ll always suggest you come to their place. They’ll try to change the plan just because they can’t make it (without considering the fact that others are ready) and they stop hanging out if things don’t go their way.
Stay away from people who only use you to vent their emotions. They don’t listen to you but expect you to listen to them. When you try to do the same, they make excuses and leave. The worst part is that speaking to them drains away all your positive energy.
Stay away from those who always say “no”. You want to have a great time, but they come in and ruin the atmosphere. The worst part is, they won’t give you a definite answer. They’ll say they’ll let you know later. They’ll keep you in suspense until the last minute, and then they’ll say “no”. They ruin every single plan.
Stay away from people who invade your personal space too much. Stay away from people who’re mean to the waiters. And stay away from people who make jokes when another person is sad (people stayed away from me because I was this person once).
Finding and maintaining good friendships involves a lot of work, but it’s completely worth it.
